it's London, baby!!
There is a place in the world that I love the most, and judge me, it is not my country or hometown.
Neither the place I got engaged, or married.
The first place I ever had the experience of living by myself alone with my child was England. I chose the cheapest town in England to spend our first Christmas far from Brasil, and the coldest time of the year.
What a memory!
Preparing to go, I had no idea how cold that could be, we didn't even have proper clothes or had never seen snow. But that was the right place to be. We spent 3 months around Carlisle and Edinburgh and it became the place where dreams come true to me. The tea, the accent, the castles... It is a live fairytale to me.
After almost a year and a half or so, we had the opportunity to visit England again last April. All the good feelings about this place and the memories we made there came back: the first snow, the first Christmas as our own family, the first travel with my son and my husband-to-be, the hot chocolates around the town...
This time, in London, another dream came true: a live Dave Matthews show with my family. When I met my husband, 3y ago, I didn't know the band yet, but he was already a big fan, and I wanted to go to a concert together. Apparently, they don't play in Brazil, since 2018. So the easiest and closest place for our family to see them was London. That was the perfect excuse to go back.
Also saw my longtime friend who came from Ireland to meet, went on a nostalgic magical visit to Harry Potter Studios, and as a souvenir of the show, my son received the drumsticks directly from Carter Beauford's hands. Had amazing days at the park, went to the famous bookshop in Notting Hill, to the Big Ben tower, and Westminster Abbey. Went shopping with my friends and had a delicious English breakfast at Gail's.
The show was fantastic - we went both nights! Seeing my friend was really special to me, visiting the studios was the perfect birthday gift, and everything there, again, confirmed how magical this place is to me. I feel like Joey going to London, for the first time!
Looking forward to another visit <3
